Pune, 5th October 2026: An IndiGo flight from Pune to Hyderabad was found to have suffered an impact involving a bird after landing at Hyderabad airport on Sunday morning, causing minor damage to the aircraft’s nose.

The Airbus A321neo, operating flight 6E-352, was carrying more than 100 passengers. No injuries were reported. The aircraft departed Pune at around 6.32 am and reached Hyderabad at approximately 7.23 am.

Passengers said they did not notice anything unusual during the journey. One passenger described the flight as normal and said the aircraft landed on time.

“It was a regular flight. It landed on time and everything inside the cabin was normal. While coming out of the aircraft, I overheard some passengers talking about the incident,” the passenger said, requesting anonymity.

IndiGo had not issued an official statement at the time of publication despite being contacted for a response. Airline sources confirmed that the aircraft had been involved in a bird-related incident.

It was not immediately clear when the aircraft came into contact with the bird. Such incidents can occur during take-off, shortly after departure, while an aircraft is approaching an airport or after landing.

Sources indicated that the incident may have occurred while the aircraft was approaching Hyderabad. The plane was scheduled to operate a Hyderabad-Chandigarh service after its arrival, but that flight was subsequently cancelled, according to an airline source.

Bird activity around Pune Airport and surrounding areas has remained a concern for aviation authorities. Data shows that 145 incidents involving aircraft and birds were reported in Pune between 2020 and 2024.

There have also been recent cases involving flights operating to and from Pune. In October last year, an Akasa Air flight from Pune to Delhi was affected by a similar incident. In June last year, an Air India aircraft arriving in Pune from Delhi was also reported to have encountered a bird.

Civic authorities have previously said measures were being taken to remove garbage and other waste from areas surrounding Lohegaon Airport, as such waste can attract birds and increase risks to aircraft.

However, aviation experts and passengers have continued to raise concerns about bird activity in the vicinity of the airport and the effectiveness of measures taken to address the problem.
