Pune, 15th October 2026: Pune residents wishing to send Diwali faral and gifts to loved ones abroad can avail themselves of free doorstep parcel collection, along with paid packing and international delivery services offered by the Department of Posts.

The Pune Postal Region has introduced the facility for residents who cannot visit a post office amid their daily commitments. Postmen will collect faral parcels from their homes without a pickup charge, while packing will be available at a nominal cost and overseas dispatch at applicable postal rates, informed Priti Agarwal, Postmaster General, Pune Region.

She added, “All post offices in Pune city offer facilities for sending Diwali faral abroad and packing the items. Packing equipment has been installed at Pune GPO, Pune City Head Post Office, Chinchwad East, Market Yard, Parvati and other major post offices to facilitate the preparation and dispatch of parcels.”

The initiative aims to help people living overseas for work or education enjoy traditional festive delicacies sent by their families. Residents can also use the parcel service to send Diwali gifts.

The department said it dispatched 21,000 kg of Diwali faral from Pune last year, delivering the parcels to recipients abroad in time for the festival.
