Pimpri, 17th October 2026: A dispute that erupted while watching Dandiya celebrations last year triggered a violent clash between two groups in Pimpri’s Baudhnagar area around 8pm on Wednesday (October 14). Both sides have lodged complaints against each other, and police have arrested six people.

In the first case, a woman alleged that the accused pelted stones at her family over an old dispute while she was sitting outside her shop with her husband and daughter. In the counter-complaint, Yash Balasaheb Gaikwad, a resident of Rahatani, alleged that he was attacked with sickles, a scythe, bamboo sticks and stones when he came to watch Dandiya celebrations. The attack, allegedly stemming from last year’s dispute, left him seriously injured. The accused also allegedly brandished weapons in the air to terrorise residents.
