Mumbai, 19th October 2026: Three men suspected of firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai were arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan on Monday while travelling on the Pune–Jaipur Express, police said. The arrests were made by a joint team of the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police.

The accused include a 17-year-old boy from Sonipat in Haryana, 18-year-old Rehan, also from Sonipat, and Hritik Kumar alias Roshan, 22, originally from Begusarai in Bihar, who lives in Andheri West and works as a Rapido rider. Two of them are suspected to have carried out the shooting, while the third allegedly helped them escape. Investigators suspect links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, though the alleged association remains to be established.

According to investigators, the assailants allegedly monitored Shroff’s weekly routine and knew he visited a football ground in Juhu on Sundays. They are suspected to have tracked his movements and targeted his vehicle as he left the area. After the firing, they allegedly escaped along SV Road through Vile Parle and Andheri, abandoned their motorcycle near Andheri West railway station and boarded a train towards Borivali. They are suspected to have crossed into neighbouring states while trying to evade police. Investigators are examining whether the attack was carried out by trained shooters following a prior recce.

The firing took place around 7pm on Sunday near Pushpa Narsee Park in Vile Parle, when unidentified assailants allegedly fired five rounds at Shroff’s vehicle. The actor escaped unhurt, but his driver, Firdosh, and a bystander, Umesh Chavan, sustained bullet injuries. Mumbai Police registered a case against three unidentified men and recorded the driver’s statement. The city police and Crime Branch launched a joint investigation, deploying 15 teams to trace the suspects.

A social media post claiming responsibility on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is also being examined. Police have not verified its authenticity or established a link between the gang and the shooting.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his Bandra residence late on Sunday and assured the actor and his family of adequate security. Shinde warned that gang violence would not be tolerated and said those responsible would face a strong response, drawing parallels with action taken against organised crime in Mumbai during the 1990s.
