Baramati, 22nd October 2026: A man from Bhigwan has accused Dilip Khandiba Khedkar, Manorama Khedkar and their associates of cheating him in a land deal in Waghalwadi village of Baramati taluka, confining him against his will, assaulting him and threatening to kill him.

Amit Muralidhar Darade has submitted a written complaint to the Pune rural superintendent of police, seeking legal action against those named in his application.

According to the complaint submitted on October 14, Dilip Khedkar and Manorama Khedkar had approached Darade for help in selling a roadside plot in Waghalwadi. Darade subsequently informed an acquaintance, Suryawanshi, from Malegaon about the property. Discussions regarding the deal were later held at the Khedkars’ residence in Baner, Pune.

The complaint states that a deal was finalised for a 14-guntha plot at Rs10.75 lakh per guntha, taking the total consideration to Rs1.50 crore. An advance of Rs25,000 was paid, while the remaining amount was to be paid during the execution of the sale deed at Baramati on October 12.

Darade alleged that on October 12, when he and the prospective buyer, Jagtap, reached the Baramati sub-registrar’s office, Manorama Khedkar called him and asked them to come to a lodge near Baramati Club, where she said the transaction would be completed.

After discussions at the lodge, they were asked to arrange a machine to count the cash. Darade alleged that around Rs1.25 crore was subsequently taken by Manorama Khedkar, Dilip Khedkar and their manager, Balraje Khedkar.

He further alleged that he was then called into a room and pressured over the documentation. The accused allegedly told him that a cheating case had already been registered in connection with the plot and asked him either to deny the transaction involving the entire amount or execute documents reflecting a consideration of only Rs18 lakh.

Following a dispute over the amount, Darade claimed that he was held against his will, assaulted and threatened with death.

The allegations have been submitted to the Pune rural superintendent of police, who has been urged to initiate legal action. The police’s response to the complaint was not mentioned in the application details available.
