Pimpri Chinchwad Police Deport 26 Foreign Nationals for Illegal Stay in 10 Months
Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th October 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad police have taken action against 26 foreign nationals found staying illegally in the city and sent them back to their respective countries between January 1 and October 25, 2026. Those deported include 19 women and seven men.
The action is part of an ongoing drive to identify foreign nationals who entered India for education, employment or other purposes but continued to stay in the country after their visas expired.
The anti-terrorism squad of the special branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate, along with the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO), is monitoring foreign nationals residing in the city. Their visa status and the validity of their stay are being verified, and those found overstaying are facing action.
Officials said some foreign nationals who came to India for education or other reasons continue to live in the city after their visas expire, taking up various jobs or businesses to earn a livelihood.
The police are also tracing Bangladeshi nationals suspected of entering India illegally and verifying their details before initiating the process to deport them to their country of origin.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Dheeraj Patil said action was being taken against foreign nationals overstaying their permitted duration in India and that the process of sending them back to their respective countries was underway. He urged citizens to share any information about such individuals with the police.
The police have also appealed to landlords to verify the validity of passports, visas and residence documents before renting out houses or flats to foreign nationals. After checking the necessary documents, landlords must submit tenant information to the police as required under the rules.
Hotel, lodge and guest house operators have also been asked to maintain records of foreign nationals staying at their establishments and immediately inform the nearest police station if a guest overstays their visa or engages in suspicious activities.
