Nanded, 28th October 2026: The Nanded district administration will provide free coaching for NEET, JEE Main and MHT CET entrance examinations to 200 meritorious students from economically weaker rural families amid drought conditions in parts of Maharashtra.

The initiative aims to help students prepare for competitive entrance examinations despite financial constraints affecting their families. According to the district administration, students currently studying in Class 10 at Zilla Parishad high schools and private aided schools in rural areas will be eligible to apply.

The selection process will involve an entrance examination scheduled for December 2026. Students who qualify will receive structured coaching to prepare for medical, engineering and other professional courses.

The administration has appealed to eligible students from rural areas to participate in the selection process and make use of the initiative.

The programme comes as drought conditions across Maharashtra continue to affect rural households, adding to the financial difficulties faced by families dependent on agriculture. For students from economically weaker backgrounds, the cost of private coaching for competitive entrance examinations can be an additional barrier to pursuing higher education.

NEET is conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses, while JEE Main is used for admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes. The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is used for admission to professional courses, including engineering and pharmacy, in the state.

Through the initiative, the district administration intends to support students from rural communities in accessing coaching for these examinations without the additional financial burden of private coaching.

Further details regarding the entrance test, including the examination schedule and application process, will need to be confirmed through official announcements by the district administration.
