Mohammadwadi, 2nd November 2026: Concerns over alleged public drinking and littering have been raised by residents of NIBM Annexe in Mohammadwadi after empty beer bottles were reportedly found scattered outside Archana Paradise Phase 1.
Nitin D’Souza, a resident of the area, said that on the night of October 30, a few individuals were allegedly consuming alcohol inside a parked car outside the residential complex. After the occupants left, empty beer bottles were found scattered along the road and footpath.
Expressing concern over the incident, D’Souza said such activities could create inconvenience for residents and pose potential safety risks, particularly for children and senior citizens using the footpaths and surrounding areas.
He has brought the matter to the attention of Kale Padal Police Station and the Pune Municipal Corporation’s ward office, requesting intervention and regular police patrolling during night hours in NIBM Annexe.
D’Souza has also urged residents of Archana Paradise Phase 1 and neighbouring housing societies to remain vigilant and report similar incidents to the authorities. He advised residents to document such activities by sharing photographs and vehicle registration numbers, wherever it is safe to do so.
Residents are seeking increased police vigilance and enforcement to prevent public drinking, discourage littering and maintain cleanliness and safety on residential roads in Mohammadwadi.
