Pune, 2nd November 2026: Bomb threats sent by email targeting Shivajinagar Court, a metro station and the Pune mayor’s office turned out to be a hoax, Pune City Police said on Monday.

According to a police statement, an email threatening to blow up the court and the metro station was received on the court’s official email address on Monday afternoon. A separate threat was sent to the mayor’s office’s official email address.

Police officers, court staff and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) responded, and the Shivajinagar Court building was evacuated. Police were also deployed to secure the area around the metro station.

The BDDS conducted thorough checks at all the locations, including the mayor’s office. No suspicious objects were found, and the squad issued a safety clearance, police said. Security personnel were deployed as a precaution.

Pune City Police appealed to citizens not to believe rumours.
