Instructions for candidates

Communication devices will not be permitted inside examination centres, according to the document.

The circular states that the date sheets are available for access and download on the board’s official website.

Board outlines scheduling considerations

CBSE said it finalised the timetables after completing the List of Candidates submission process and receiving data from schools on the subject combinations selected by students.

According to the circular, more than 40,000 subject combinations were considered to prevent examinations in two subjects selected by the same student from falling on the same date. The board also said it provided gaps between examinations in subjects commonly taken together.

Tentative schedules for major entrance examinations were taken into account when preparing the Class 12 timetable, the board said. Other considerations included the number of candidates appearing at each examination centre on a particular day and limiting teachers’ prolonged absence from schools during evaluation work.

The board attributed the early release to schools submitting candidate information on time. It said advance publication was intended to give students more time to organise their preparation and allow schools, examination centres, teachers and families to plan around the examination and evaluation schedules.
