PCMC: 11 fresh Coronavirus cases today, tally reaches 107; Two areas sealed from tonight

Pimpri, April 28, 2020: After 11 new cases of Coronavirus positive COVID19 were detected in Pimpri-Chinchwad today taking the total tally to 107, the PCMC administration sealed some areas of Kalewadi and Pimprigaon.

Today morning nine more Coronavirus patients’ reports came positive taking totally to 106 out of which one woman is from Khadki. Eight patients including six males and two females are from Rupeenagar and there are 28 patients in the area. In the evening, officials received a positive report of a woman from Khadki and a 53-year-old man from Pimple Nilakh. Also, two patients from Kharalwadi were discharged today after being cured.

Till now four patients including one from Pune have died while 31 have been cured and discharged. Therefore, there are still 72 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals. The PCMC had declared 16 areas as containment zones while relaxed curfew in other areas from today. However, after fresh cases emerged in Pimprigaon and Kalewadi, some areas are being sealed from 11 pm today. The boundary of these areas will be closed till further orders. People will not be allowed to move out of these areas. Also, outsiders will not be allowed entry there.

The areas sealed are Pimprigaon: Survey No. 224/1 Tapovan Mandir Road in Pimprigaon, Sukhwani City – Vodafone Store – Nandkirana Store, Dnyaneshwar General Stores, Kapse Chowk, Mauli Tea, Wadekar Misal. Kalewadi Fata: Bus stop No. 16 on Aundh Ravet BRTS route, Kalewadi Fata, Prox Software Company, Aundh-Ravet BRT Road, Premkulfi, Indian Bank, Akshay Park.

Meanwhile, in Pune city PMC areas the number of Coronavirus positive reached 1339 which includes 79 deaths and 203 who have been discharged. According to the district health officer (DHO) till 9 pm today, the total tally of Coronavirus positive patients reached 1491 which includes 83 deaths and 230 who have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
