Coronavirus: 122 fresh patients in Pune city today total 1339 cases now, 4 months old boy among those cured
Pune, April 28, 2020: Today there was a jump of 122 new Coronavirus COVID19 patients in areas under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) taking the total tally to 1339 which includes 79 deaths and 203 who have been discharged. This is the highest increase in new patients number in Pune since the first case was detected on March 9.
According to PMC officials, two patients died today while 27 patients were discharged after being cured. There are still 1057 active patients including 73 in critical conditions. Among those discharged include a 4 months old boy from Yerwada. His grandfather had first tested positive. Later other family members were tested but his parents’ report was negative. The boy was detected with COVID19 and admitted in Sassoon hospital on April 13. After 14 days of treatment, he was cured and discharged today. In all these days, his mother was allowed to breastfeed him.
There were 11 new cases of Coronavirus positive COVID19 in Pimpri-Chinchwad today taking the total tally to 107. The PCMC administration sealed some areas of Kalewadi and Pimprigaon after fresh cases emerged there. Today morning nine more Coronavirus patients’ reports came positive taking totally to 106 out of which one woman is from Khadki. Eight patients including six males and two females are from Rupeenagar and there are 28 patients in the area. In the evening, officials received a positive report of a woman from Khadki and a 53-year-old man from Pimple Nilakh. Also, two patients from Kharalwadi were discharged today after being cured. Till now four patients including one from Pune have died while 31 have been cured and discharged. Therefore, there are still 72 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals. The PCMC had declared 16 areas as containment zones while relaxed curfew in other areas from today.
According to the district health officer (DHO) till 9 pm today, the total tally of Coronavirus positive patients reached 1491 which includes 83 deaths and 230 who have been cured and discharged from hospitals. Three deaths and 143 new COVID19 positive cases have been reported in Pune district in the last 24 hours.
