Pune: Crime Branch Arrests Wanted Robber After Six Years

Pune, September 8, 2020: The sleuths from the Crime Branch of Pune City Police have arrested a fugitive who had eight cases registered against him in the last six years.

According to the Police, Pradip alias Ganesh Balasaheb (32), resident of Dhayari has been a part of multiple robberies and was booked by Swargate, Sinhgad and Kothrud police station with two cases of preparation for robbery, one case of serious injury, three cases of carrying firearms and two others.

While patrolling in the jurisdiction of Sinhgad Road police station, Assistant Sub Inspector Pandurang Vanjale and Head Constable Hanumant Gaikwad received a tip-off that the accused is near Ladli saree centre, Dhayari, and is seen wearing black pants, a cream-coloured floral shirt and a blue mask on his face. Acting on the received tip-off, policemen Vanjale and Gaikwad nabbed the accused around 2.30 pm on September 6.

Police said that during interrogation, the accused confessed of being involved with other accused Pintu alias Rohidas Laxman Gupte, Angad Mahadev Gawli, and others who were involved with him in previous robberies.

The accused has been handed over to Kothrud police station for further investigation.
