Pune: Lonavala, Kamshet, Vadgaon Maval Police Stations To Merge In Pimpri Chinchwad Police?

Pune, 15th June 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash has written to the Maharashtra Police Headquarters to include Lonavala rural, Lonavala city, Kamshet and Vadgaon Maval police stations under the police commissionerate. At present these four police stations in Maval taluka are under the jurisdiction of Pune rural police.

To get feedback from the people, the Director General of Police has instructed the Superintendent of Police (Pune rural) Dr Abhinav Deshmukh to get the opinion of the Gram Panchayats of these police stations on the proposal to merge with the Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate.

The commissionerate came into existence on August 15, 2018. It was carved out of the jurisdiction of Pune city police and Pune rural police. At present, the police stations in Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate include Alandi, Chakan, Bhosari, Chikhali, Chinchwad, Wakad, Dehu Road, Dighi, Hinjawadi, Bhosari MIDC, Nigdi, Pimpri, Sangvi, Talegaon Dabhade and Talegaon MIDC.
