Pune: Survey Should Be Conducted Immediately For Children Who Have Lost Their Parents Due To Covid- District Collector

Pune, 16th June 2021: District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh today instructed to take necessary measures for the proper protection and upbringing of the children who have lost both their parents due to Coronavirus disease (COVID19). He also directed to conduct a survey with pace and in a planned manner of those children.
A meeting of the district-level action force was held at the Collectorate. At this time, District Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Resident Deputy Collector Dr Jayshree Katare, District Child Development Officer Ashwini Kamble, District Child Protection Officer Param Anand along with members of the District Level Action Force were present.
District Collector Dr Deshmukh said that a task force has been set up to provide assistance under the Child Care Scheme to the children whose parents have passed away due to Covid. He also directed that immediate help should be provided to such children and home visits should be made to ensure that proper care is taken of the children who lost their parents.
Instructing the coordinators to provide detailed information about the children who lost both their parents due to Covid-19 disease.
Collector Deshmukh said, “Child Helpline number 1098 should be displayed in all the hospitals in the working area. It is our responsibility to provide the best possible protection to children who have lost both parents. Utmost care of the children should be taken and their financial and property rights should remain unaffected.”
Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh said that the team of ‘Bharosa Cell’ will also pay a home visit for the rehabilitation of those children. He said that it was his responsibility to provide the utmost protection to children who lost their parents.
District Child Development Officer Ashwini Kamble gave detailed information about the scheme.
Chief Officers of various departments were also present at the meeting.
