Pune, 24th June 2021: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and all colleges affiliated with the university have launched a campaign to vaccinate foreign students against COVID-19.

The vaccination drive will be carried out jointly by the International Center of Savitribai Phule Pune University and the Indian Cultural Association, Pune, in collaboration with the World Organization of Students and Youth.

The university’s International Centre has issued a circular to all the affiliated departments, colleges and institutions in this regard. The link to the google form is now available and all foreign students are requested to register for the vaccination drive through it.

While providing information about the drive, SPPU International Centre Director Dr Vijay Khare informed that the students can register till June 26 and the vaccination process will commence after that. The vaccine will be free of cost.

“Foreign students were having difficulty in getting vaccinated as they did not have Indian citizenship or an Aadhaar Card. Therefore, the vaccination campaign has been undertaken by the university for their convenience. So far, 150 students have registered for it”, said Dr Khare.
