Pune: Maharashtra Govt Sanctions Rs 191 Crore For Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Science Innovation City In Pimpri Chinchwad
Mumbai, 1st September 2021: The decision to set up ‘Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Science Innovation City’ in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area near Pune was taken in the state cabinet meeting held today. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
8 acres of land is available to create a scientific spirit among the students and to develop future scientists. The world-class facility will be erected in the next five years. An expenditure of Rs 191 crore was sanctioned for this under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
Recognizing the need for science and technology to shape India in the 21st century, fulfilling the dream of enriching India, creating a scientific approach to change, creating curiosity, using technology for social development, teaching science in a fun way, experiential learning, presentation of various concepts based on science, are some of the objectives of the city.
