Army Public School Pune Hosts Southern Command Principals Conclave

Pune, 10th September 2021: A seminal Principals’ Conclave was hosted by the iconic Army Public School, Southern Command (SC) Pune for all Army Public Schools covering entire peninsular India with online attendance by principals from other stations on 31 August and 1st September.

The dignitaries were welcomed by Col SPR Bhosle, SM, Director Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), HQ SC. Anita Nain, Regional President Southern Command AWWA was the inspiration behind the event with her emphasis on ensuring a good ‘Quality of Life’ for troops and their families through quality education for their wards.

Organized under the aegis of Southern Command, the conclave was aimed at sharing ‘Best Practices’ amongst the principals and also saw an engaging workshop by Roopa Arun, Zonal President AWWA, Dakshin Bharat Area on adopting Bloom’s taxonomy towards implementation of New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The intellectual calibre and timeliness of the endeavour as well as the flawless conduct of the event by APS Pune was complimented by Anita Walia, Regional Vice President Southern Command AWWA who presided over the inaugural and valedictory sessions.

Roopa Arun, an educationist of acclaim, was the key speaker and sparked intense discussions and deliberations amongst 37 Principals and will go a long way in designing a student-centred learning experience aimed at tangible outcomes covering curriculum building, content development and assessment planning.

This conclave laid the foundations of implementation of NEP in the prestigious Army Public Schools run by the AWES and will forever be remembered for its insightful and visionary content.
