A Legacy of Sacrifice: Veer Naris Lauded at Intelligence Corps’ 81st Raising Day Celebration In Pune

Pune, 1st November 2023: The Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Wanowrie, resonated with patriotic fervor as the Intelligence Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 81st Raising Day with grandeur.

In a special tribute this year, an event was organized to honor the Veer Naris (brave widows) of the Intelligence Corps. With a total of 40 martyrs, the Next of Kin of 19 fallen heroes graced the occasion, highlighting the sacrifice and resilience of these families.

The commemorative day saw various events, including the solemn wreath-laying ceremony to honor the “Fallen Heroes” and a Barakhana gathering for all ranks and their families. During the Barakhana, the Veer Naris were specially felicitated, acknowledging their enduring spirit and contribution.

The event drew participation from a significant number of veterans, serving soldiers, and their families affiliated with the Intelligence Corps, representing a diverse and unified presence from across the country.

In a heartfelt address, Lt Gen PK Chahal, AVSM, Colonel Commandant Intelligence Corps, extended congratulations to all ranks. He urged everyone to maintain high standards of excellence and professionalism, emphasizing unwavering dedication and selflessness to further enhance the esteemed history of the Intelligence Corps.

Adding to the celebrations, Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, and several other senior officers conveyed their greetings and best wishes to the Corps on this momentous occasion, recognizing the Corps’ significant contributions and commitment to national security.
