Pune, 13th July 2025: The unique event “Nothing Doing”, jointly organized by Cyber Maitra and GRY Foundation, received an overwhelming response from participants of all age groups – from teenagers to senior citizens. The event was held at The Live, Bidkar Icon, Madan Talathi Path, off Rahul Nagar, between 10 AM to 12 PM.

The participants spent 45 minutes in complete stillness and silence, without using their phones, talking, reading, or making any movements. This rare opportunity to just “be” – fully present in the moment – turned out to be a deeply moving and refreshing experience for many.

The event was observed by Niranjan Medhekar, Mamata Kshemkalyani, and Abhijit Pendharkar, who appreciated the sincerity and calm presence of the participants.

Renowned psychologist Dr. Shirisha Sathe, the Chief Guest, delivered an insightful address on the dopamine surge culture, explaining how digital platforms are designed to create compulsive usage patterns. She emphasized how boredom and difficult emotions are now avoided due to constant digital distractions, and highlighted the importance of re-learning how to be with ourselves – without screens or stimulation.

Mukta Chaitanya, founder of Cyber Maitra, shared the deeper purpose behind the event:
“I organized ‘Nothing Doing’ not just as a one-time activity, but as a social movement. In a time where digital overuse, dependency, and the constant search for pleasure or entertainment dominate our lives, we are losing touch with ourselves. Through this stillness challenge, I wanted to give people a space to reconnect with their minds, experience silence, and reflect. This is not just about unplugging – it’s about tuning inward.”

Organizers Cyber Maitra and GRY Foundation expressed gratitude for the heartfelt participation and shared that such events will be continued as part of a broader campaign promoting digital mindfulness.

The event concluded with enthusiastic feedback from the participants, many of whom shared how this 45-minute pause brought a sense of peace, clarity, and self-connection.
