Aarav , Sarena upset topseeds to enter boys and girls finals at 18th Ramesh Desai Memorial Under 12 Tennis Championship
Mumbai, February 16, 2024: Aarav Chhallani of Maharashtra upset top seed Yuvaan Garg of Uttar Pradesh to enter the boys finals while Haryana’s Sarena Gehlot upset top seed Shrishti Kiran of Karnataka to enter the girls singles finals at 18th Ramesh Desai Memorial Under 12 Tennis Championship organized by Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and played at GA Ranade Tennis Center .
In the semi finals the fourth seeded Mumbai boy Aarav Chhallani upset the top seeded Yuvaan Garg 6-1, 7-6(6) , he will now take on Puneet M of Karnataka who outhit fifth seed Taanish Nanda of Punjab 6-1, 6-3
Puneet also placed himself in line for a double crown as he partnering with Garg won the boys doubles title
In the girls it will be an all Haryana affair as third seeded Sarena Gehlot upset top seeded Srishti Kiran of Karnataka 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 she will take on second seeded
Khushi Kadian who halted the run of. Fourth seeded Padma Rameshkumar of Karnataka 6-4, 6-0
However the Karnataka girls Srishti Kiran and Padma Rameshkumar scored a 7-6(6), 6-3 win over Sarena Gehlot and Khushi Kadian to win the doubles title
The doubles winners and runner up received trophy and certificates. The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr. Mrs. Kumkum Mehta, Daughter of Late Shri Ramesh Desai and Mrs. Pati Desai, Daughter in law of late Shri Ramesh Desai, Mr Manoj Vaidya CEO MSLTA.
