ACC Ltd partners with BCCI on Swachh Bharat Mission to provide waste management services during India-England ODI series at Pune stadium

Mumbai, March 26th 2021: ACC Ltd, one of the leading cement producers in the country, has partnered with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to provide a safe and sustainable solution for safe disposal of waste that usually get generated during a cricket match to support Swachh Bharat Mission.

ACC’s inhouse waste management arm‘Geocycle,’ will provide safe waste management solutions at Pune stadium, where the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between the cricket teams of India and England is being played. The first ODI was held on 23rd and the second match is happening today and the last match will be held on 28th March 2021.

The Government’s ‘Swachh Bharat’ programme, coupled with the mega city growth solution to manage municipal waste through co-processing, is expected to get greater traction in future. With increased consumption of alternative fuels—0.29 Million tonnes—the Company has achieved Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) of 6.9% in 2020 compared to 5.6% in 2019.
