Actor Allu Arjun Arrested After Stampede at Pushpa-2 Premiere in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 13th December 2024: Actor Allu Arjun was taken into custody on Friday in connection with a stampede during the Pushpa-2 premiere at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, which led to the death of 35-year-old Revathi on December 4. Her son is still receiving medical treatment.

The arrest occurred when a police team, led by the assistant commissioner, arrived at Allu Arjun’s home to take him into custody, with his family present. He was then escorted to the police station.

The incident took place when Allu Arjun’s arrival, along with his security detail, caused a rush of people trying to enter the theatre, resulting in chaos and a lathi charge. Authorities stated that poor crowd management by the theatre and the absence of separate entry and exit points for the actor’s team contributed to the situation.

Three individuals, including a theatre co-partner, have already been arrested in connection with the incident.

A case has been filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station based on a complaint from the deceased’s family. Allu Arjun has also filed a petition to quash the FIR and requested a stay on further proceedings, including his arrest.
