Additional budget of the state is “Sarvajan hitay, Sarvajan sukhaay” : Fadnavis

Mumbai, June 18, 2019 : The additional budget of the state for the year 2019-20 presented in the Maharashtra legislature today will boost the production in the state and will lessen the expenditure. This budget is truly going to take all the sects of the society towards development and hence it is ‘Sarvajan hitay, Sarvajan sukhay’ (In the interest of all, For happiness of all), said Chief Minister Mr Devendra Fadnavis.

He said that the farmers, poor women, differently able (handicapped), downtrodden and depressed categories will be given justice and at the same time industries and employment generation will also get a boost. Mr Fadnavis said that along with the issues related to agriculture, more provisions are made for the irrigation field. He said that this year 12.50 thousand crore more funds will be given for water resources department. Due to this, the irrigation capacity of the state will increased and the pending irrigation projects will be completed before time as the hefty provisions will be helpful in this direction.

He also said that for the sustainable development of agricultural field, the State of Maharashtra Agribusiness and Rural Transformation (SMART) scheme will be deemed very important. The chief minister said that with the help of World Bank funds of rupees 2200 crore has been made available. He also said that farmers were given loan waiver in large number and those who remained outside from the waiver scheme due to some technical provisions, will also be included and given the benefit of loan waiver.  He said that his government is committed to give benefit to maximum of the farmers of the state.

Chief Minister Mr Fadnavis said that after many positive amendments, the economy is developing by 7.5 percent. He said that the financial status of Maharashtra is good as compared to other states of the country. Mr Fadnavis also said that according to the norms of Reserve Bank of India, the capacity of taking loan is 55 thousand crores. The state has controlled it just on 11 thousand crores and this is applauding. He said, ‘In such a situation, all the sects are given justice without any deficit and as such I congratulation Finance Minister Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar for presenting a really progressive budget’.

Mr fadnavis said that emphasis was on providing infrastructural facilities in the state and more provisions are being made in this additional budget. He also said that the budget will be helpful for speeding up the  rural as well as urban water supply schemes. He asserted that remarkable provisions are made for the state government declared new industrial policy and at the same time chief minister employment generation scheme (Mukhyamantri Rojgar Nirmiti Yojana) has also been announced which will help in generating employment on large scale in the state.

He also said that priority is been given for the welfare of youth, poor women, widow, abandoned women and people from Naxalism affected areas. He said that the ‘Barter’ system which is very strong in rural economy, was also thought about, and various schemes are being implemented for that. He said that for the students of Ashram Shala, the allowances for or meals and nutritious food have been increased and importantly the housing scheme for differently able (handicapped) is going to be important.

Mr Fadnavis said that the amount of rupees 600 given to the downtrodden and suppressed people under various schemes has been raised to 1200 rupees. He said that various provisions are also made in this additional budget for other backward class (OBC) community. He also said that the issue of Dhangar community reservation is sub-judice and the state government has given a positive affidavit in the court. He said that all the 22 schemes that are implemented for the benefit of tribal community, will also be implemented for the Dhangar community and this is revolutionary decision for which the provision of 1000 crore rupees has been made. He said that due to this decision, there will be no cut in provisions for tribal in the additional budget and separate provision is been made for Dhangar community. He said, ‘We have promised to give justice to the Dhangar community and we have done that’, Chief Minister asserted.
