AFMC Pune Holds Lamp Lighting Ceremony for 59th Batch of BSc Nursing Students

Wanowrie, 13th January 2025: The Lamp Lighting Ceremony of the 59th batch of BSc Nursing students of the College of Nursing, AFMC Pune, was held on January 13,2025, at the Bharadwaj Auditorium, AFMC, Pune.

This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of Lt Gen Sandeep Thareja, Director and Commandant, AFMC, as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the budding Nightingales and the meritorious students, encouraging them to cultivate positive influences and strive for continuous professional growth.

The ceremony, a significant milestone in the journey of nurturing students, marked their formal initiation into the noble profession of nursing. The highlight of the event was the administration of the Nurses Pledge by Brig Tressa S. P., Brigadier, Military Nursing Service (MNS), Headquarters (Southern Command).

Brig Vandana Agnihotri, Principal, College of Nursing, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished gathering and presented the annual college report. The symbolic act of transferring knowledge represented by the lighting of the lamp was carried out with great reverence. The Principal lit the ceremonial lamp, passing the flame to the teachers and, subsequently, to the students, signifying the transition of wisdom and learning from one generation to the next.

This inspiring event set the stage for the new batch of nursing students to embark on their journey of dedication, compassion, and excellence in healthcare.
