AI integration Doesn’t Threaten Nursing Jobs But Rather Enhances Patient Care: Dr. T. Dileep Kumar.

Pune, 26th February 2024: – Symbiosis College of Nursing, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), (SIU) in collaboration with QMB Department under the mentorship of Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, SIU hosted an innovative National Conference titled “Tech-Health: Demystify and Accept Artificial Intelligence.”

GP Capt SA Raheem, Radiologist, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune was invited as the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony of the Conference. Dr. T. Dileep Kumar, President Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi delivered the keynote address for the ceremony.

Speaking at the occasion GP Capt SA Raheem provided valuable insights into the fusion of technology and healthcare. He delivered a concise overview of machine learning and deep learning, emphasizing their significance. Additionally, he underscored the potential benefits of integrating AI with military services, highlighting its prospective advantages for enhancing military operations.

Dr. T. Dileep Kumar, President Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi in his keynote address mentioned that, AI integration doesn’t threaten Nursing Jobs but rather enhances patient care. He also addressed the latest developments in the field. He emphasized the growing significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing education, stressing its indispensable role. He noted the incorporation of competency-based education in Basic B.Sc. Nursing and highlighted governmental efforts, including amendments to the INC Act and the introduction of midwifery commission codes.

The conference saw a galaxy of speakers, each bringing their unique expertise and insights to the forefront of discussions. Among them were luminaries such as Padma Shri Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, Dr. Arun Jamkar, Distinguished Professor at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Symbiosis International University Mr. Shishir Vaidya from the National HRD Network, Pune Chapter.

Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, spoke on the importance of AI in healthcare in the future. Dr. Sonopant Joshi, Director, Symbiosis College of Nursing, SIU, Pune, gave a welcome address.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue, exchanged innovative ideas, and forged collaborations that will undoubtedly shape the future of healthcare delivery. They came from 10 different states of India and two Universities from Japan. The conference served as a platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and policymakers to explore the interdisciplinary intersection of technology and healthcare, unlocking unprecedented potential for medical practices.
