Pune, 7th February 2026: The 2001 batch of the Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Dighi, celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years since graduation, with a grand alumni gathering organised under the aegis of the AIT Pune Alumni Association. The event saw the participation of over 200 alumni, including nearly 25 who travelled from abroad, reflecting the strong global presence and enduring bonds within the AIT Pune alumni community.
The Silver Jubilee was envisioned not only as a reunion but also as a platform to recognise excellence and strengthen alumni engagement with the institute. On this occasion, the AIT Pune Alumni Association conferred three special awards to honour alumni who have made exemplary contributions in leadership, social impact, and academics.
The Leadership Excellence Award was presented to Dr Pratik Chaturvedi for his outstanding leadership and professional achievements.
The Social Impact Award was conferred on Nandu Singh, founder of Grow Billion Trees, in recognition of his impactful work in environmental sustainability and community-led afforestation initiatives.
The Academic Excellence Award was awarded to Dr Anurag Mohan for his significant contributions to academics, research, and knowledge dissemination.
The event was chaired by Major General K K Chakrabarti. In his address, he emphasised the need for alumni to engage more actively with the college and contribute in meaningful ways through mentorship, knowledge sharing, institutional support, and long-term collaboration. He highlighted that a strong alumni ecosystem plays a critical role in strengthening academic institutions and shaping future leaders.
The celebration also provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, reflect on their journeys, and explore avenues for collaboration and giving back to AIT Pune. The evening concluded with a shared sense of pride, responsibility, and renewed commitment to supporting the institute’s growth and legacy.
“The Silver Jubilee of the 2001 batch stands as a testament to the values nurtured at the Army Institute of Technology, Pune — excellence, service, and lifelong association,” said Governing Council member Pranav Bairagi.
