Amar FC rides on Yash Pawar’s double to beat Fatima XI SA at 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament

Pune, January 11, 2023: Yash Pawar scored one goal each in either side of the halftime as Amar FC defeated Fatima XI 2-0 and stormed into the semifinals of the 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament at the COEP ground in Shivajinagar here on Wednesday.
Yash Pawar opened the account for Amar FC in the 18th minute when gourav Swaminathan sent up a measured pass.
Fatima XI tried its best to find an equaliser but in vain.
On changing the ends, Yash was again at the helm beating through the defence in the 44th minute when Sahil Jagtapset him up.
In the second match of the dayKhadki United shocked Stikers FC 2-1 to make it to the semifinals. Samuel Hansdak opened the scoring for the khadki team in the 18th minute when Vinit Pillaygave a neat pass .
Strikers FC ralliel in the second half thanks to Yash Jhunjhunwala’s 50th minute goal on a pass from Dinesh Thapa. Strikers fc ,however, failed to find one more goal much against the expectations of its profile.
MJF Lion Dr Chandrahas Shetty, Past District Governor of Lions Club were present on the occasion.
