Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will step down as CEO; Andy Jessie will be given responsibility

New Delhi, February 3, 2021: The world’s richest man and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will renounce his Chief executive officer (CEO) position in the third quarter this year. In his place, Amazon Web Services Chief Andy Jessie will be given the responsibility of CEO. This news has come when Amazon’s profits increased to a record level, as people made the most online purchases during the Corona period.

In a letter to Amazon employees, Jeff Bezos said he would continue to be involved in important Amazon initiatives, but now he will continue to pursue his philanthropic initiatives like his One Day Fund, Bezos Earth Fund, and other business ventures, including space exploration and journalism.

He has been in this position for the last 26 years. He founded this company as an online book store. He will now serve as the executive chairman of the company.

The newly appointed CEO, Andy Jessie, is currently the Chief of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Jesse, 53, joined Amazon in 1997 and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

In 2006, Jessie founded Amazon’s Cloud Service Platform (AWS), which is being used by millions of businesses worldwide. It competes against Microsoft’s Azure and Alphabet Inc.’s Google Cloud.

Jessie is quite active in social issues and has been vocal about black rights and LGBTQ rights. Amazon has achieved record sales of $ 100 billion for the first time.
