Coimbatore, 26 February 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed Sadhguru for his contribution to spreading the essence of Sanatana Dharma at the Isha Mahashivratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Addressing the gathering, he stated, “Through you, Sadhguru, the entire world is understanding Sanatana—that true knowledge is understanding oneself, and the direction to change the world comes by changing oneself.”

The Home Minister compared the grand celebration at Isha Yoga Center to the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, calling it a “Mahakumbh of devotion in Coimbatore.” He also described his experience at the Yoga Center as a journey from “consciousness to collective consciousness, from self-interest to ultimate welfare, and from self to the universe.”

Sadhguru unveiled the ‘Miracle of Mind’ App, a free 7-minute guided meditation tool designed to help individuals incorporate meditation into their daily routines. The app set a new record by surpassing 1 million downloads in just 15 hours, outpacing major tech launches including ChatGPT (which reached 1 million users in 5 days), CALM (4 years), and Headspace (2 years).

At the Adiyogi, the main venue, the Home Minister offered Kailash Teertham to Yogeshwara Linga and inaugurated the night-long festivities by lighting the Mahayoga Yagna, symbolizing the global spread of Yoga.

Welcoming Amit Shah, Sadhguru likened his efforts to those of Sardar Patel, stating, “Without maintaining the basic sovereignty and law and order in the country, all other aspirations—economic development, education, technology, spirituality—will go to waste.”

On the significance of Mahashivratri, Sadhguru emphasized, “No matter what religion, race, creed, caste—if you are human and have an erect spine, Mahashivratri is relevant for you, Adiyogi is relevant for you, and yogic sciences are absolutely relevant for you.”
