…And Burglary Saga Continues In Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad, September 12, 2020: Thieves broke into three shops located a stone’s throw away from the Police Commissioner’s office. People are expecting the newly appointed Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash to take concrete measures against crime in the industrial town.
Three shops, one in Premlok Park, one in Indiranagar and one in Chinchwadgaon, were burgled overnight. There has been an attempted burglary at one of these places, but the burglars have not been able to enter the shop. Two of these incidents have taken place very close to the Commissionerate.
The scrap mafia, water supply scams, bullying under the name of Mathadi, massive vehicle theft, traffic jams in IT Park Hinjewadi and Talwade, online fraud, street crime are all issues that need to be addressed.
On one hand, the city police chief has issued a diktat that he will not hold meetings due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but on the other hand, his well-wishers are crowding at the office.
After taking charge of the Pimpri Chinchwad police about a week ago, the top cop had said that he will curb the rising crime and white-collar crime in rural and urban as well as MIDC areas. The residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad are waiting for some action now.
