Another Fatal Accident Near Pune's Navale Bridge

Narhe, 10th June 2026: A 31-year-old motorcyclist died after a cement mixer truck overturned and crushed his two-wheeler near Navale Bridge in Narhe during the early hours of Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 12:30 am in front of Pulse Hospital near Navale Bridge on the Katraj–Bavdhan route.

The deceased has been identified as Rameshwar Machhindra Bhogale (31), currently residing in Waghjai Nagar near Jain Mandir in Katraj. He was originally from Sangvi village in Beed district.

According to Narhe Police, the cement mixer truck (MH 12 RN 2866), driven by Gorakh Laxman Ransure (50), a resident of Loni Kalbhor, was travelling from Katraj towards Bavdhan when it overturned while taking a turn at Navale Chowk. The truck fell onto its side, trapping and crushing a Honda Shine motorcycle (MH 23 BL 5225) travelling towards Bavdhan.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. The truck driver suffered minor head injuries in the incident.

Police Inspector (Crime) Ishwar Chavan of Narhe Police Station said, “The cement mixer overturned while negotiating a turn near Navale Chowk, resulting in the motorcycle being trapped underneath the vehicle. The rider died at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries, and further legal action is underway.”

Police personnel removed the damaged vehicles from the spot and restored the flow of traffic. The injured driver was sent for medical treatment, while the deceased’s body was shifted to Sassoon General Hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.
