Apple Unveils iOS 2025 at WWDC with AI-Powered Call Features, Redesigned Phone App

New Delhi, 10th June 2025: Apple has officially launched iOS 2025 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 26), unveiling a host of AI-powered enhancements and a completely revamped Phone App. With this update, Apple aims to deliver a more seamless and intelligent calling experience—finally introducing features that Android users have had for years.
One of the key highlights of iOS 2025 is the integration of artificial intelligence into the core Phone App. Apple has introduced two major features: Call Screening and Hold Assist, designed to enhance call management and user convenience.
Call Screening: Smarter Way to Handle Incoming Calls
The new Call Screening feature allows iPhone users to preview incoming calls in real time. Powered by AI, it transcribes the caller’s message live, enabling users to decide whether to answer or ignore the call—helping to filter out spam and unknown numbers more efficiently.
This feature supports a wide range of languages, including:
English: US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa
French: France, Canada
Spanish: US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain
Mandarin Chinese: Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau
German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil) and others
Hold Assist: No More Waiting Blindly on Hold
Another new addition is Hold Assist, which monitors calls placed on hold and notifies users as soon as the other party returns. This eliminates the need for users to stay glued to their phones while waiting. The feature is available in select languages including English (multiple regions), French, Spanish, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese.
Revamped Phone App with Streamlined UI
Apple has also redesigned the Phone App from the ground up. The refreshed interface brings a more organized layout, combining features like voicemail, favorite contacts, and recent call history into a unified view. Navigation has been simplified, allowing users to manage contacts and calls more intuitively than before.
With these updates, Apple is positioning iOS 2025 as a significant leap toward smarter, AI-driven smartphone functionality—bridging the gap between iPhone and Android call features, and redefining the user experience.
