Army Chief General Bipin Rawat visits Southern Command, Pune

Pune, November 23, 2019: General Bipin Rawat, Param Vishist Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishist Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishist Seva Medal, Aid-De-Camp, Chief of the Army Staff made a visit to Headquarters Southern Command, Pune on 23 November 2019. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).

General Bipin Rawat was received by Lieutenant General SK Saini, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal,General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command at Milkha Singh Sports Complex where he interacted with troops of Pune Station. He complimented Southern Command for its professionalism and dedication towards duty while safeguarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation. He congratulated the formation for its outstanding contribution in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations, especially during the floods in peninsular India in the recent past. He also appreciated the Southern Command for its contribution in Exercises with Friendly Foreign Countries and various sports and adventure activities.

Mrs Madhulika Rawat visited ‘Southern Command Welfare Complex’, accompanied by Mrs Neena Saini, Regional President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), Southern Command. She interacted with the wives of all ranks of the station and complimented them for providing rock solid support to the soldiers manning the frontline.
