As an actor, Books have played very important role in life – Anupam Kher
Pune, 4th September: “As far as my academic life is concerned I hated books, but in my later part of life, as an Actor books have played very important role in my life. They have taught me lot.” said noted film actor Anupam Kher. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 4th edition of ‘Pune International Literary Festival – 2016’ (PILF – 2016) during a session titled as ‘Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’.
Brain behind PILF Dr. Manjiri Prabhu was present on this occasion along with other organising committee members Leena Prabhu, Bipinchandra Chougule and Sabina Sanghvi.
Speaking on why he always glorifies his failure stories over his success, he said, “Despite being extremely successful in my professional as well as personal life I feel that success is very boring. I enjoy the journey more than the destination. I have been raised in a very positive atmosphere by my family and so I am a borne optimist. If I speak about myself, I am sum total of my failures. I believe that we all have fear for failure in our mind, but we must learn to eradicate it to be successful in our lives.”
Speaking about so called increasing ‘intolerance’ in the country, Kher expressed, “I don’t understand why people don’t want to stand for their own Country’s National Anthem? I am an Indian and very proud of it. If someone speaks ill of my country I will not tolerate it and I will continue to talk about the greatness of my country however people may interpret it.”
Commenting on nationalism, he said, “India is a young country and its future is great because of its youth. They are borne free and are very responsible, trustworthy and confident too. Nationalism is in their blood and so we shouldn’t underestimate them.”
