Avartan Gurukul will create real ‘Performing Artists’
Pune, July 21 : “In ancient Gurukul culture, Gurus and disciples used to spend more time in the process of learning and hence Gurus would be able to pass on much of their knowledge to their disciples. But now this culture is almost on the verge of extinction. To avoid this, is the main purpose behind establishment of Avartan Gurukul.’’ Said Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, on the occasion of inauguration of ‘Avartan Gurukul’. On this occasion, renowned Indian Classical Vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kalshalkar unveiled the website of Avartan Gurukul. Dr. Sucheta Bhide – Chapekar, renowned BharatNatyam Dancer, Vidushi Shama Bhate, renowned Kathak Dancer, Arundhati Patwardhan, Shirish Kaulgud, Shrikant Shirodkar, Anita Sanjiv, Trustee of ‘Awartan Gurukul’, Ramdas Palsule, renowned Tabla performer were also present on this occasion.
On this occasion, Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar presented flagship program ‘Taal Yatra’ melodious combination of Tabla, dance, and vocal which mesmerized the audience.
Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Dr. Sucheta Bhide – Chapekar, Shama Bhate, Ramdas Palsule and Uday Bhavalkar have consented to be the Gurus / Trainers of their respective art at ‘Avartan Gurukul’. Pt. Suresh Talwalkar would act as the Chief Mentor of the Gurukul.
The ‘Avartan Gurukul’ shall operate from the dedicated premises located at the Sankalp Business School near the Sinhagad Engineering College and shall be equipped with all the required facilities for imparting training in Indian Classical Music and Dance. A trust has been formed to handle the administration of this Gurukul.
