Pune, May 30, 2018: City based Bonsai Artist Prajakta Kale, is awarded with ‘Sasyabandhu Award’ recently in Mysore by Avdhoot Datta Peetham which works Internationally for spiritual and cultural welfare. Kale received the citation and trophy at the hands of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda, Founder, Avdhoota Datta Peetham. This award is presented each year to mark the birth anniversary of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidanand.

Vaman Vruksha Kala is the Indian name for Bonsai which unfortunately could not get much recognition in India. This art has been acknowledged in other countries under the name Bonsai. Kale took an initiative to aware Indians with this art and therefore she has been awarded with this award for her remarkable dedication towards the art. Kale has been working from past three decades to give an identity to the Bonsai art. Bonsai is known for its exquisite appeal and is a rare form of art.

Though rooted in India Bonsai art hasn’t got much recognition and a deserving acceptance by people. But the coming era will be of Bonsai art said, Kale. There should be a specific Institute for Bonsai to enlighten and aware the coming generation about this rare art exclaimed, Kale. Hence, we should propagate Bonsai not only as an art but also as having commercial value said, Kale. Also, the art helps us preserve the medicinal herbs curated and discovered by ancient sages

Prajakta Kale is the Founder and Director of Bonsai Namaste, Largest Bonsai exhibition and convention center. The exhibition was organized between February 22 and February 25, 2018. 3000 Puneites received the opportunity to witness more than 1000 Bonsai in the exhibition.
