Axis Bank to offer electronic signature facility to its customers

Mumbai, December 18, 2015: As part of its ‘Digital India’ vision, the Government of India launched ‘eSign’ services in the country, early this year. Axis Bank, taking its Digital Banking initiatives a step forward, has partnered with e-Mudhra Ltd., a leading digital security company, to introduce ‘eSign’ – an online electronic signature service which facilitates an Aadhaar holder to digitally sign a document within seconds.
Axis Bank is the first organization in the country to sign up for this service. ‘eSign’ will be an integrated service which will facilitate customers of the bank to get a digital signature certificate; sign documents, application forms with this digital signature and also submit these digitally signed documents to the bank in a secure online manner, at the click of a button. ‘eSign’ offers speed, security and convenience as customers needn’t visit the Bank’s branches for such services and can perform the same from the comfort of one’s home, in a totally paperless manner.
The service rides on Aadhar authentication and generates the digital signature automatically. The generated signature is legally valid and secure.

The eSign facility will be available to customers while opening new relationships and also during regular servicing of their existing relationships.
