Bank of Maharashtra conducted “MEGA SHETKARI MELAVA’s” at 741 Villages across the state on 28th July 2018

Bank of Maharashtra had organized “Mega Shetkari Melava’s” through its Rural / Semi-Urban Branches at 741 villages across the state of Maharashtra on 28.07.2018. The main purpose for holding such Shetkari Melava’s was to have a direct dialogue with the farmers for implementing the concept of “Bank Ali Aplya Dari” in true sense. All agricultural loan schemes of the Bank were informed to the farmers by the Bank Officials during the camps.

Bank of Maharashtra is having 1846 Branches across the country. Out of 1132 Branches in Maharashtra, 766 Branches are situated in Rural & Semi Urban areas to serve the farming community.

Senior Officials from Head Office, Officials from Zonal Offices, Concern Branch Managers and Agriculture Field Officers (AFOs) have actively participated and delivered the information in brief about Mahabank Kisan Credit Card Scheme (MKCC) and other Agri Loan Schemes of the Bank. During the campaign, the focus was on Crop Loan sanctions to the farmers afresh and to the beneficiaries who are benefited under Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana (CSMSSY) 2017. An appeal was made to all existing crop loan borrowers for renewal of their KCCs immediately to avail benefit of concessional rate of interest and subvention scheme.

Besides agriculture loan schemes, retail loan schemes viz. Housing Loan, Vehicle Loan, Education Loan, MUDRA Loan and social security schemes viz. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana were also discussed in the Melava’s.

Banners and posters were displayed during the “Shetkari Melava”. The Leaflets / Pamplets were distributed containing details of agri loan schemes in local language to the participating farmers. Government Officials / Prominent personalities from the villages have attended the event. On the spot sanction letters were issued to select farmers during the Shetkari Melava. Agril loan application forms along with check-list of documents required for availing the loans were also distributed during the Melava.

Bank has received excellent response from farmers through all the corners of the state. The campaign was attended by more than 50000 farmers where in about 20000 applications amounting to Rs. 180.00 crore were received. About 10000 farmers were delivered with In- principle sanction letters for Crop Loans amounting to Rs. 85.00 crore on the spot during the campaign. The farmers have expressed good words about such novel initiative taken by the Bank and proved in real sense that Mahabank is “Shetkaryanchya Jivhalyachi Bank”.

Being SLBC Convener for Maharashtra State, such unique initiative undertaken by Bank for betterment of the entire farming community with an assurance for Quick disposal of credit proposals & Customer handholding.
