BJP Demands For Additional Police Force To Curb Traffic In Pune
Pune, 19th October 2022: Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has assured that additional police force will be made available immediately to bring the traffic crisis under control in the city, said BJP city president Jagdish Mulik.
A city BJP delegation led by Mulik met Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta today to discuss the traffic congestion. General Secretary Dutta Khade, Sandeep Lonkar, Publicity Head Hemant Lele, Pushkar Tuljapurkar, and Arvind Gore were present.
Mulik said, “All the squares in the city should be surveyed by an independent organization. It was demanded that the causes of traffic jams in the intersections should be investigated and immediate measures should be taken. The commissioner approved it in principle. Also, 400 wardens will be appointed soon – one or two in each square according to the need.”

A joint high-level meeting of all important departments such as the Traffic Police Department, Pune Municipal Corporation, Metro, Public Roads Department, State Transport Board, Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation, and Smart City will be organized in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Guardian Minister to solve the traffic problem in the city. Mulik said that he will talk to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a day or two about that.
