Blocked Drains Cause Sewage Water To Enter Houses In Pune’s Bhoi Ali Area
Pune, 17th April 2023: Water entered houses in the Bhoi Ali area of the city due to blocked drains. The rain started around 4.00 pm on Sunday (16th April) evening, and the water started flowing heavily from the road. Due to the strong flow of water, it entered the drain.
Sewage water entered the houses of citizens due to the overflow of the drain chamber, which was filled with garbage and silt. The house of Adv Sanjay Roman was at the center of the water flow, and he along with other citizens tried to prevent sewage from entering their homes. However, their efforts were unsuccessful due to the high speed of the water.
Citizens blamed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the water entering their homes, stating that it was a result of their failure to clean the drains regularly.
