Bombay Art Society elects Chitra Mete as VP

Pune, November 26: An art lover, entrepreneur of the city Chitra Mete has recently been elected as the Vice-President by the Bombay Art Society. Being established in 1888 the Bombay Art Society not only inspires the emerging artisans, but also undertakes various initiatives to encourage them.

After completing her graduation from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Chitra Mete started an advertising firm ‘Chaitra Creations’ in Pune. Chitra joined hands with the handmade paper institute located in Pune and turned around its look and feel completely. Now the institute and its gallery is considered as one the best in the country.

Under the guidance of her father, Raosaheb Gurav, former principal of Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya and renowned artist, she has been successful in creating a platform for the artisans, painters and fine artists under the banner of ‘Sumbaran Art Foundation’. The organization has been taking efforts towards conducting various programs all across the state for emerging artisans.
