Mumbai/Pune, June 25, 2020: Maharashtra Minister Aslam Sheikh said that the state government has decided to re-open gyms and salons in Maharashtra within a week. The guidelines will be issued for it. Maharashtra govt has not taken any decision on allowing religious gatherings in the state, he said.

The state has allowed salons to re-open from June 28. The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet. Mumbai Guardian Sheikh informed about this. The salons and gym are closed due to lockdown that has been going on in the state for the past three months in the backdrop of Coronavirus pandemic. Since the last one month, the salon and gym operators have been asking for permission to resume their services.

The state government had not allowed them to open, given the risk of a large-scale corona infection. However, since the salons, gyms have been closed for the last three months, the operators are facing financial difficulties.

Only haircuts allowed: Although the salon has been allowed to start, the government has put some terms and conditions. It is mandatory for both the hairdresser and the customer to wear mask. Importantly, only haircuts are allowed. Shaving is not allowed yet.
