Brillio – Bringing Smiles and Ciena Award Miss Maker &Master Maker 2020 from 100 Students in Pune

ndia, Pune – February 24, 2020 – Bringing Smiles, the CSR program of Brillio, a leading global digital consulting and technology services company, today announced the winners of ‘Miss Maker & Master Maker’.This is a unique program run by Brillio and Ciena, a global network strategy and technology company.The competition was judged by Abhishek Ranjan, Director- Sustainability, Brillioand Roopesh Palasdeokar, Director, Software and Services, Blue Planet Group, Ciena.

Kicked-off at the beginning of 2019, the theme of the ‘Miss Maker & Master Maker’program was ‘STEM’(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). More than 200 participating students were trained and coached through the year by 100+ Brillio and Ciena volunteers in new-age technologies. The students developed innovative science models such as Smart Waste Disposal System, Smart Water Management System, Eco-friendly Street Lighting, Vacuum Cleaners, and many more, using eco-friendly, and waste materials.

Pratisksha from Lal Bahadur Shastri School were named Miss Maker 2020 while Aditya from ZP Mahalunge were named Master Maker 2020. The winners received a Gold Medal and Trophy, along with a certificate of honor. The Brillio Miss Maker & Master Maker program provides a unique platform for the government school students to showcase skills like Design Thinking, Model Making and STEM expertise. The aim of this program is to nurture the imagination of young students and inculcate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

On this occasion, Abhishek Ranjan, Director – Sustainability, Brillio said,“Students are the backbone of a better future.At Brillio, we collaborate with the government schools to ensure that the underserved students have access to cutting-edge technology that is crucial to realize their potential.We are also happy with our collaboration with Ciena, which has helped bring technology skills and tools of innovation to the underserved students.”

It has been a rewarding collaboration for our volunteers. The overall program is beneficial for the undeserved students to have access to cutting edge technology that is crucial to realize their potential. Also, this gave our volunteers an opportunity to learn in the process, adding the fun element to the CSR activities.”
