Pune, 2nd October 2025: In a heartwarming display of compassion and creativity, volunteers transformed the Sahjeevan Old Age Home in Bhugaon, Pune, into a vibrant haven of color and connection. Nestled on the serene banks of Manas Lake, Sahjeevan—founded by Dr. Dilip Deodhar—has long been a sanctuary for senior citizens seeking peace, care, and dignity in their twilight years.

This past weekend, the home came alive with Boho Art as nearly 45 volunteers from diverse backgrounds joined hands to paint walls and canvases alongside the residents. The initiative, led by Padmini Panse, founder of the Multiple Intelligence Research Academy (MIRA), aimed to foster meaningful bonds through art.

Among the contributors were five Chartered Accountants—CA Pritam Mahure, CA Neeraj Panwar, CA Soham Joglekar, CA Prachi Chordia, and CA Pranav Upadhye—who took time off their busy schedules to lend support. Students like Adi Panse and Asmi Panse added youthful energy, painting canvases for seniors unable to hold a brush themselves.

Senior citizens such as Aditi Gore, Dr. Satish Kulkarni, and Poorva Sathe also participated, their trembling hands bringing nature-inspired Boho designs to life in pastel and vibrant hues. As each canvas neared completion, smiles emerged and stories flowed—memories of love, resilience, and joy shared with the volunteers.

The canvases now adorn each of the 45 rooms at Sahjeevan, serving as daily reminders of the colorful moments created together. With a dedicated staff of 20 caregivers, Sahjeevan continues to offer not just medical support, but soulful companionship.

This initiative wasn’t just about painting walls—it was about painting lives with empathy, laughter, and shared humanity.
