Builders Atul Goel And Amit Goel Of Goel Ganga Group Booked For Cheating And Forgery By Pune Police

Bibvewadi, 24th November 2021: Builders Atul Jaiprakash Goel (47) and Amit Jaiprakash Goel (40) of the reputed Goel Ganga Group and two others have been booked by Pune city police in a case of cheating and forgery.

As per the FIR registered with Bibvewadi police station, the duo has been accused of using fake sale deeds to tender their proposal to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) for the resettlement of a slum on a piece of land in Bibvewadi.

Based on a complaint filed by Rahul Kailash Tikone (50) of Kasba Peth, Bibvewadi police station has registered the case against Goel Ganga Group’s Managing Director Atul Goel and Director Amit Goel, late Kailash Kisan Tikone of Kasba Peth and Chhaban Fakkadrao Thorve of Bibvewadi. They have been booked for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 423 (dishonest or fraudulent execution of deed of transfer containing false statement of consideration), 465 (punishment for forgery), 466 (forgery of record of Court or of public register, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document as genuine) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As per the FIR, Rahul Tikone owns land at Survey No. 659/10, 659/12B, 660/04 in Bibvewadi, where a slum exists at present. Rahul’s father Kailas Kisanrao Tikone and Thorve allegedly made a fake power of attorney for the land and transferred it to Amit Goel in 2006. Later Amit and Atul Goel created a false sale deed and also submitted a slum resettlement proposal to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority. The fraud came to light when the resettlement of the slum dwellers began.

Senior Police Inspector Sunil Jhavre, who is investigating the case, said that the case has been registered for cheating the heirs and the government.
