Nestlé India today organized in Pune an interactive workshop for educating adolescents from marginalized communities on healthy eating habits, as a buildup to the forthcoming International Chefs Day.

The workshop focused on the importance of healthy and nutritious food while growing up and saw participation from around 80 adolescents who are part of the Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme in Pune.

Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Nestlé India added The Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme has been developed with a focus to provide nutrition awareness to adolescents, encouraging them to lead heathier lives. The programme has been conducted since 2009 and has reached over 250,000 adolescents across 22 states encouraging them to live healthier lives.

During the workshop, the adolescents interacted with in-house chefs by volunteering to assist chefs in cooking healthy dishes. They also participated in quizzes on the important nutrients present in different ingredients used in preparing recipes.

The objective of this activity was to encourage adolescents to consume a wider variety of healthy and delicious food by giving them hands-on experience in the recipe preparation to make it enjoyable and exciting.

The adolescents were educated on the importance of healthy eating and best cooking habits so that they grow healthy and pass on the benefits of a healthier lifestyle to others.

At the end of the event, the adolescents shared the knowledge and experience they gained and received a certificate with their name, as well.
