BUSINESS DELEGATES FROM OMAN VISIT POONA

Pune, February 26, 2016: A Special Session on Opportunities for Business and Investment in Oman and Gulf, North and East Africa as well as Singapore andScope for attracting Private Equity in Indian companies was held at the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture on 26th February 2016 from 6:30 p.m. at NavalmalFirodia Conference Hall.

A business delegation from Oman visited Pune on 26th February 2014. The delegation headed by Sh. Salim Taman al Mashani, included Dr. Shirish Gupte, of ICT Oman an advisory firm, Mr. Erwin Mortelmans and Mr. Talal al Barwani, Port of Duqm, Mr. Rajshekhar Singh, Bank Muscat and Ismail Al Harthy, ONIDCO – Tanmia an Investment Company. During the interactive session there was discussion onmanufacturing and trading investment prospects in Oman to access the GCC, North and East Africa markets, and leveraging Oman’s FTA’s with USA, Singaporeand the GAFTA (Gulf Arab Free Trade Agreement).

The Event will focussed on Manufacturing in Oman – Advantage – Oman., In Country Value (ICV) program and how Indian companies can benefit from setting up JVs directly or in partnership with Western companies in Oman to cater to the Oil & Gas sector.The visiting delegation also spoke about the larger North and East Africa and Middle East Market – Oman as the base to address / service these markets

There were presentations on Manufacturing and TradingOpportunities in Oman,Gulf Co-operation countries, North and East Africa, Bank financing, Using Oman’s FTAs with USA, Singapore and GAFTA, Using facilities at Port of Duqmfor promoting your  businessand Presentation on Legal aspects of doing business in Oman

The delegation also spoke about the big new opportunity, Iran, and how setting up in Oman would help in addressing this opportunity.

The event was mainly for companies / institutions from, Oil & Gas related equipment, Engineering (transformers, generators, pumps, valves, compressors, oil filtration systems, other equipment), Electrical Equipment and components, Mining Equipment, Engineering and Project Management Services, Solar Power Projects, Logistics (ports and airports, railways), Real Estate, Construction and Construction Equipment, Healthcare, Hotels, Food Processing, IT services, Tourism, Educationand Trading in commodities (maize, soya, sugar, wheat flour, rice etc.)
