Businessman Arrested With Pistol And Six Bullets At Pune Railway Station

Pune, 25th January 2023: A 47-year-old businessman from Gujarat has been arrested for illegally carrying a 9 mm pistol and six live cartridges at the Pune railway station.

The arrested accused has been identified as Anil Kumar Upadhyay, a cloth merchant from Surat in Gujarat.

As per the FIR registered at Pune GRP police station, Upadhyay was caught at the main gate of Pune railway station at 10.55 am on Tuesday (January 24). He has been charged for offences under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.

A court has remanded the accused to five days police custody. The Local Crime Branch of GRP is further investigating the case.
