Captain America and Chhaava Making A Weekend

Mumbai, 17th February 2025: Bollywood and Hollywood are both at the best business this week. Bollywood, with its top-notch box office opener Chhaava and Marvel Universe with Captain America on the silver screen, is raising the competition and digit game more for each other.
The MCU’s Captain America has kept up its benchmark in India by being a 4-crore opener even after Chhava, the current thriller, crossing an overall three-day number of more than 100 crores. Captain America Box Office Collection Day 3 is unshadowed and impressive amidst the theatres leaning towards Chhaava.
This is the 35th Marvel Cinematic Universe’s release in India, making an exclusive collection continuing the legacy like the other 34 films before. The film opened with four crores in India, and the number kept increasing with the second day’s collection of 4 crores and a remarkable increase of 4 percent on the third day.
The MCU movie features Harrison Ford Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, aka Red Hulk, whereas Indian historical drama stars Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna. Both the films had their release this Valentine’s Day on 14th February. Chhaava, being the most anticipated film of the month, is giving tough competition to the other releases.
Captain America faced a slighter decrease on the second day of the release but made a significant 4 percent increase since Day 3.
For Chhaava, the immense support from the audience and viewers led to massive excitement for the release date. As soon as the release date was announced on the 14th of February, it became the Valentine’s Day plan, creating a record booking of more than 13 crore, the highest of 2025. It has accumulated approximately Rs 13.78 crore through pre-booked ticket sales, now leading to a huge number of more than 100 crores in 3 days only. Chaava, the most awaited film, had an opening of 31 crores at the box office. On the second day, Saturday, the film’s collection was 37 crores. Early collection of the film can earn 49.50 crores on Sunday. In total, the film’s collection has reached Rs 117.50 crores.
Chhaava’s bookings were already breaking records, and now the 3-Day collection has even broken records of Pushpa 2 too.
This weekend was full of two power-packed releases and an audience who couldn’t keep themselves from the cinemas. With each passing day, the film’s collection is increasing tremendously, and Captain America with it in the theatres is nothing but an exclusively filmy weekend with massive and exciting experience of cinema.
